Land Use/Land Cover 1975, Level 1

Description

This is land use/land cover digital data collected by USGS and converted to Arc/Info. This data is useful for environmental assessment of land use patterns with respect to water quality analysis, growth management, and other types of environmental impact assessment.

The original GIRAS format for each 1:250,000 quadrangle was converted to Arc/Info and paneled together to create a seamless land use coverage for the entire state.

The dates for the original source material range from 1972-1976, so the use of this layer could be limited to historical change.

This layer is a simplified version that has been dissolved on the broad land use/land cover classification (level-1).
